At Sir Adam Beck GS in Niagara Falls, ON, Soo Foundry was called to remove old Johnson Valve bodies from the penstock, just ahead of the units. In working with OPG, we came up with a way to remove the unwanted material back-up through the 300-foot-long penstock. SFM designed, fabricated, machined and installed a 32-ton 18-piece bolt together transition sleeve in its place. This work was completed on three units with zero lost time accidents.
