At Soo Foundry we welcome apprentice applications. A large number of our current employees served their apprenticeships at Soo Foundry.
We welcome apprentice applications in;
- Machining
- Welding and or Welder Fitter
- Millwrights
We strongly encourage all apprentice applicants to attend and graduate from a Community College prior to enrolling. As an apprentice you will have the opportunity to learn your trade in a modern diversified jobbing shop. You will develop excellent skills working with a highly skilled and friendly workforce. We hope our apprentices stay on and work at Soo Foundry & Machine. Many have gone on to careers with large corporations. Many of our current employees have worked 30 plus years at Soo Foundry and some over 40.
Soo Foundry also works closely with local high schools, in co-op placements. We work in partnership with Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sault Ste. Marie, where many of our employees have attended.
