Trash racks are used in hydro power generation dams to stop debris and large objects from entering the generating units and causing damage. SFM removed the damaged racks that had been lodged into the penstock leading to the turbine. We fabricated new racks from shop drawings and installed the new weldments in place at the dam site. The size and short timeline posed a challenge. However, SFM was able to fabricate, paint and deliver them in a timely manner and get the generator back in operation.
