Machining
Soo Foundry features 5,000 square feet dedicated to both conventional and CNC machining services. Our equipment includes a 74-inch diameter vertical turret lathe and a CAT 50 CNC vertical machining center. Furthermore, our apprentices and ticketed machinists are trained to operate all this equipment. They are also skilled in the latest version of CAM software.
In addition to our machining area, we have 7,200 square feet of shared space. This area houses a 15-ton capacity CNC horizontal boring mill, which is operated by two full-time staff members. Consequently, we are well-equipped to handle a wide range of machining tasks efficiently.
Fabrication
Soo Foundry dedicates 7,000 square feet to our steel processing and fabrication service. We excel in cutting, rolling, bending, and fitting fabrications to tolerances that surpass industry standards. Additionally, we are CWB Division 2 certified for aluminum and steel, with expertise in FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW procedures.
Our fabricators collaborate closely with machinists to ensure a superior product that meets or exceeds expectations. Moreover, we have 7,200 square feet of shared space equipped with a 70-ton crane. This setup enables us to handle even the largest projects in the region effectively.
Mechanical
Our mechanical division includes millwrights and hydraulic technicians who work both onsite for various customers and within our facility. We handle a wide range of tasks, from hydraulic cylinder repairs to gearbox overhauls.
In our 5,000-square-foot facility, we are equipped with various tools to complete in-house cylinder repairs. Additionally, we provide detailed test reports after each rebuild. Moreover, we share 7,200 square feet of space with other trades, using it for larger rebuilds and assembly projects.
